Prepare Yourself...

So take a deep breath and relax because this may be a shock. Well..... at least it was for me. Yesterday I was on the phone for about 15 minutes and when I was done I went to look for Maddi. I found her in her room under her blanket. I began tickling her and tried to pull the blanket off but she wouldn't let me. After I got it off, I didn't notice it at first because she was laying down, but when she sat up, I figured out what had happened.

Like I said.... Prepare yourself!

Did you do it?

Did you prepare yourself?

At least you get to prepare yourself. I, on the other hand, am still in shock.

Ok are you ready?

Cause here you go......

I literally FREAKED out! I tried not to make her feel absolutely horrible about it, but I did tell her we would have to cut her hair like a boy. Some of the hair on top was cut right next to the scalp. And you can't tell from the picture but on the side here, underneath, it's Andrew length. I tried to fix it myself, but I had no idea how to.

This is what it looked like after Jesse took her to Super Clips, because I was too besides myself to take her.

You can't really tell from the picture, but there is a strategically placed barrette to pull the hair over the ultra short part.

And when she came home she was all happy and said "The lady cut off the boy hair and made me look like a pixie! I look like Tinkerbell!"

ummmm uh-huh.

And yes earlier this week Maddi decided she didn't want to be a witch, she wanted to be Tinkerbell. Maybe that was her inspiration.
And yes, I feel sick about it. I'm sure we'll all look back and say, haha remember when....

But I'm not sure that will happen for awhile.

Maddism

Mommy is laying down by Maddi to try and get her to sleep. Maddi keeps asking to hear the story of "Belle's Enchanted Christmas." But since Mommy hasn't heard that one, Maddi gets fed up and decides to tell the story herself and then somehow segues into Disney's Three Musketeers.

The story gets very long and embellished so Mommy rests her head and closes her eyes.....

Maddi grabs Mommy head and lifts it up:

Mom! Don't fall asleep! You might have questions later!

Trust me kid, with how often that movie is watched in this house, I think we're safe.......But I will save any questions for the end.

Too Funny

You Belong in 1952

You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

I think it was the Cary Grant question...

Maddism

The kids have long been in bed and Jesse and Lisa are downstairs watching the news. Lisa had put Maddi to bed that night and told her that she may not come downstairs for any reason. Jesse decides to get a drink and goes to the kitchen.

Maddi:
pssssttttt!!!!
Jesse looks around but doesn't see anyone.
Maddi:
ppppsssssssttttttt!!!!!
Jesse looks up and sees Maddi peaking her head through the railing on the balcony.
Maddi whispers:
Will you do me a favor and get me some food? But don't tell mom.

Yes that was verbatim.

And who does she think she's kidding? Since when does a 4 year old ask adults to do her a favor?

Andrewism

Just to give you some background, Andrew loves Becky's dog Tootsie or 'Oostie as Andrew says. She has certain commands you say to her when you want her to do something. One is " OFF!" Okay now that, that is out of the way....

Mom changing Andrew into his pj's.
Mom:
Shoes off!
Socks off!
Pants off!
Shirt off!
Andrew: 'Oostie OFF!

Well.......... he got the command right!

Stay-cation

For Labor Day this year we had a "Stay-cation" what with it raining and all. So Maddi and I made Chocolate Chip cookies together, Jesse and Andrew built a fort so they could eat cookies and watch old school Mickey Mouse cartoons. They had a blast. That night we popped popcorn and watched a Disney movie. We had a lot of fun!!

Julia Child everyone

What's better than eating cookies in a fort? nothing...

Dinosaur Museum

During the month of August at Thanksgiving Point, everything was two dollars on Tuesday. So Annie and I decided to pack up the kids and go for it. It was busy, but we had a lot of fun. I didn't get pictures of the picnic we had but here are some pictures!

Although really blurry, I had to get a picture of this. Maddi and Ben held hands the whole time we stood in line.

Yes, this is the best picture I could get! They wouldn't hold still!
Okay, this picture doesn't show it but Andrew DID had a good time! He wanted to get out of the stroller and I kept him in there as long as possible.
I'm not sure if they were supposed to climb, but they did!
We had a great time!
