It's a Christmas Miracle!

This conversation happened last week, and I was at my wit's end.

Maddi time to get your PJs on.
No!!
Maddi let's brush your teeth.
No!!!
Maddi time to go to the bathroom.
No!!!
Maddi's time to say your prayers.
NO!!
Maddi will you turn out the light?
NOOO!!!
Maddi time to go to sleep!
NOOOOOO!!!!

(pause.....)
Mommy?
Yes?
Merry Christmas!!!

Good Eye?

So a couple of weeks ago we were playing Candyland with Maddi and she kept naming all the characters. You know: Princess Frostine, Lord Licorice, Gramma Nutt to name a few. There is a character named Mr. Mint and for some reason Maddi thinks he looks like Joseph (Jesse's brother) She won't call him Mr. Mint, only Uncle Joseph.We don't really understand it, so we thought maybe we would take a poll. Who thinks Mr. Mint looks like Joe?

See? We don't get it...

Who moved my cheese?

Sometimes Jesse puts things on the kid's head and when it falls off, they laugh. Andrew has gotten pretty good at this. But today when he was eating a cheese snack..yeah, um, I don't know. He acts like he doesn't know it's up there, but he's the one who put it there! Maybe he's saving it for later? Or maybe he just forgot about it since is didn't fall off...

And yes, this was a pre-church snack. We aren't usually this formal for snack time. However he DOES prefer Muenster Cheese to Cheddar now...so I guess maybe we ARE getting more formal!

Fun in the Snow

This last weekend we had a HUGE snowstorm! Here's Maddi playing around, trying to catch snowflakes and making snow angels. Andrew was asleep.( Not in the snow, in his bed)


Sam and Annie also invited us to come to Temple Square with them. It was FUN! we ate dinner, went to Temple square and saw the sights, and then stayed at a hotel in Downtown. Ben and Maddi played together and had fun.

And yes this is Maddi, she fell asleep wrapped in her "Grandma Bradford's Blanket" and with her head in the laundry basket. I have no explanation.

A. A big fat headache and some hairy dude bending down to look at it showing you more than you wanted to see.

A. An SUV

A. We do.

Q What happens when you have whiplash?
A. An awful night's sleep.

Q. What do you get when your kid is congested and he can't breathe?
A. Your whiplash hurts worse trying to lift him out of the crib to give him medicine. That's ok you weren't asleep anyway.

Q. What do you get when you open the fridge too fast?
A. A glass salsa jar shattering all over the floor and YOU!

Q. What do you get when all of this happens on the same day?
A. The WORST DAY EVER!

Jesse's party

Here are some pictures from Jesse's 30th birthday party! We had a lot of fun, we had tortas, taquitos and Tang. A lot of T's. We had it at my uncle's house in Alpine. It was a lot of fun!

We had a really great Thanksgiving as well. We had our first Thanksgiving with my family and then we had another Thanksgiving with Jesse's family the next day. Spencer deep fried a Turkey, it was yummy! We had a great time!

Autumn Leaves

Not much else is going on with us. We're excited for Thanksgiving this week and hanging out with family and friends. Other than that, we're pretty boring right now.
Last week the weather was so nice, we spent a lot of time outdoors. You would never know it's November! Maddi was disapppointed however when one day when we went out after a wind storm and a lot of the leaves had blown away. So she was determined to shake the trees to pull them down!

So Jesse let Maddi play around on his webcam on his Mac. It allows you to distort images and do all sorts of fun things. They were over there giggling for a WHILE. And this isn't even close to all of them. This is what they came up with:

Murphy's Law

If it's not Murphy's Law, it's one of those other many laws I learned in High School Physics. But anyway, last night we had Lasanga. It was one of those prepackaged ones from Costco. It was pretty good, but it's seemed a little greasy. So Madalyn has gotten really good eating without a bib. She usually doesn't spill anymore. But because she was wearing her newish, offwhite, purple and pink flowered shirt that is absolutely adorable, I made her wear a bib. She kept getting up and down off of her chair for some reason and every time she moved, I gasped, because I didn't want her spoon to hit her shirt. Finally, she had successfully eaten her lasanga and wanted to get down and get in the bathtub Jess was running. I bent over to take off her bib and what did I do? I knocked the spoon off of her plate at the same time lifting her bib so that the spoon hit her shirt and then rolled down the front.
Like I said, Murphy's Law.

Monterey

Here are some pictures of our trip to California! (But don't forget to check out the Halloween pictures below) We flew in Thursday night, got Tito's that night (yyyesssss!) The next day we went to the Griddle and then took a nap. We had a left over day pass from our trip to Disneyland in June so we went that night and rode the new Nemo Submarine ride and a few other rides. We left for Monterey the next day all of us riding in a 15 passenger van. A few of us got carsick (including Maddi) on the switchbacks but we finally got there. We ate a lot of seafood, went to the beach in Carmel, and RELAXED! We had a better drive back (thank heaven for Dramine) And then flew out that night. We BARELY made our flight back due to gridlock traffic, we ran down the concourse and walked right onto the plane. CRAZY! But here are some pictures...

Here are some pictures from Halloween! We had a great time. We carved Pumpkins first, Maddi wanted hers to be SCARY! We then went Trick or Treating, but we only hit up 5 houses until the kids got tired and wanted to go home. We then went to see Greyson, Grandma Bushman and Benjamin and Emily . We had a great time!

Andrew's Birthday Bash

It was a "roaring" success! I don't know about others but we had a lot of fun. And don't worry everyone, I saved the "Pin the horn on the dinosaur" game with all our names on it so we will have years of fun to come! Here are some of the pictures. And Cherilyn can you email me some of yours? I think you got some good ones too. And on a related note, Andrew did not go to bed until Midnight. He was a little wired from the sugar overload!
