Like I said.... Prepare yourself!
Did you do it?
Did you prepare yourself?
At least you get to prepare yourself. I, on the other hand, am still in shock.
Ok are you ready?
Cause here you go......
I literally FREAKED out! I tried not to make her feel absolutely horrible about it, but I did tell her we would have to cut her hair like a boy. Some of the hair on top was cut right next to the scalp. And you can't tell from the picture but on the side here, underneath, it's Andrew length. I tried to fix it myself, but I had no idea how to.This is what it looked like after Jesse took her to Super Clips, because I was too besides myself to take her.

You can't really tell from the picture, but there is a strategically placed barrette to pull the hair over the ultra short part. And when she came home she was all happy and said "The lady cut off the boy hair and made me look like a pixie! I look like Tinkerbell!"
ummmm uh-huh.
And yes earlier this week Maddi decided she didn't want to be a witch, she wanted to be Tinkerbell. Maybe that was her inspiration.
And yes, I feel sick about it. I'm sure we'll all look back and say, haha remember when....
But I'm not sure that will happen for awhile.

Ahhh! I prepared myself and still gasped out loud! She still looks cute with her "Tinkerbell" haircut.
I am glad I prepared myself. I was just telling Maddi last week how pretty her long hair is. The new pixie looks cute on her. Maybe some little boy at preschool told her he liked short hair. Who knows. Maybe now she can get into headbands.
Now, instead of saying "Don't run with scissors," you have to say, "Don't use the scissors!" Man, oh man, I'm totally in shock. Was she sad about it at first or did she say why she initially did it?
I almost wasnt prepared...but it looks really cute like that...really.
WOW. I can't belive that she did that. I would love to know what she was thinging. I think that it looks too cute!
That is too funny Lisa! Oh my gosh! We'll, she still looks cute as ever!!!
Oh wow. That's one I haven't dealt with yet! She really does look cute though!
It looks like my niece and your daughter are more on the same page then i thought. She is sporting the same hair cut Adeleine gave herself, just a couple months ago! But luckily hers is now slightly more grown out! Silly girls.... Full of never ending surprises!
I won't tell you how I was actually admiring her hair just the night before when you were over at our house (oh wait, I just did). I think it's still really cute - when you've got such a cute little girl, the hair doesn't matter! BTW, I know you were excited about trying out the different hair styles from that blog, but guess what! I found another blog for short hair!!! :) Here it is:

short hair totally rocks! :)
And don't worry, it will grow out and it won't take long.
It looks cute! And guess what Madeleine is going to be tinkerbell for halloween!
I think it is funny!! But my boys don't have any hair to cut off so I haven't had to deal with that one. Plus watching mom do hair everyday probably helps.
I am dying--with laughter of course. This is simply because there comes a time in every little girl's life, when those lovely locks are just too irresistable. Have you ever read Junie B. Jones Barbershop to her??? Now that the hair cutting seed has already been planted, it might be a good time. I think she is adorable with short hair too!!
and just what do you have against short hair?!
:)
I think it's awesome. Probably not the best approach if she's wanting to try something new...
I think I'd freak, too, but really, after the initial shock of it all, it's dang cute.
Giving yourself an awful haircut, trying to hide it from mommy, going to a haircut place for damage control, ending up with a 'pixie haircut' -- it's a rite of passage for toddlers. I would be more concerned if my daughter DIDN'T do this!
ha ha! She looks cute. Cherilyn scared me a little bit, but it was better than i expected.
