a little Annie Lebowitz in the making...

I was uploading pictures from the camera and I found these:

They are just so beautiful, I mean just look at these abstracts. The way the color strikes the screen is just so emotional. It can really be felt on the screen. It's just breathtaking. I really think I understand what Maddi was trying to say with these pictures. The depth is just a feast for my soul. I'm so glad Maddi felt comfortable enough with me to share something so personal. What?.....it's just Charlie and Lola?....well.... maybe she was......well at least it's something she loves and feels deeply about. I really feel like I got to know her a little bit better today.

Our Own Al Roker

Maddi looks outside

Maddi :
Mom can we go outside?
Mom:
Not right now, maybe later. There's a
blizzard.
Maddi:
Mom that's not a blizzard, that's called
weather.

Well maybe you can go "weather" that storm that hit your bedroom, smarty pants.

Say Again?

Mom goes into Maddi's room to wake her up to find her only in her "Night Nights" and her pjs on the floor.

Mom
: Maddi why did you take off your pjs?

Maddi: I wanted to sleep in my body.

Ummmmm, what?

No Joke...

Maddi wanted to say her own prayer last night.

These are the things she's grateful for: (and in this order)

Chocolate
Jelly Beans
Andrew
Night Nights (pull-ups she wears at night, I named them)
Wake-ups (big girl underwear, she named them)

Here are the things she asked for:

That she won't have accidents in her wake-ups.
Mom can go to the store for more chocolate and Jelly beans.

And here's the kicker. When she says the prayer she likes me to repeat everything. So I had to repeat everything she said. I just couldn't get out the "going to the store one" and I started giggling.
She told me to stop.
Whoops.
I need to work on my reverence.
