More on Prop 8

Just a comment on my last post. I didn't have time to elaborate as to why I put it on my blog.

I've heard a lot of debate going on about this, especially as to why people outside of the state should care about what happened in California. I wondered this as well, as was surprised to hear how aggressively the church was fighting this proposition.

I didn't know that this proposition, while giving some people more rights, would take other people's rights away. How can that be right? Or even fair? I think a lot of people think this proposition is just about approving gay marriage, but it doesn't protect the religious freedoms of others.

Can't we all just get along?

Lisa, the Church is not fighting against Proposition 8, they are fighting for Proposition 8. We want the ammendment to the constitution to pass. If it doesn't, then we will have the consequences you mention in your first post.

I meant to say "fighting FOR," but my edit button is lost so I couldn't fix it! ya'll know what I mean. I'll let you know when I find it...
