Being Pregnant with Twins, the stuff no one tells you.

Ok so here is just a taste of things in my life that have changed since I've been getting bigger. Not trying to complain here, but some of these are just weird.

* If I drop something on the ground, there is now a cause for a debate. How important is this thing that I dropped? Can I live without it? Would it be disgusting if I left it there? (You know, food and stuff like that) You would be amazed the things I have dismissed and decided it just wasn't worth it anymore. I am emotionally detached from my carpet now. It is dead to me.

* Going along with the above statement, my tabletops are clean. Just wear shoes when you come over.

* When I was pregnant with my other two, laying on my back was uncomfortable, but not impossible. When I am in mid turn while in bed, the mere seconds I spend on my back feels like someone is choking me. It's not just that I am without oxygen, it's the pressure on my throat. Weird? At my last ultra sound I passed out while I was laying flat on my back. Now how does THAT work?

* Man was it humiliating having to buy the LARGEST size of maternity garments available at the distribution center, (without special ordering that is) And it's not the garment itself. It's the elastic. The elastic is so crazy tight I can't handle it. The legs themselves are gigantic on me. It's pretty humbling, but the lady at the cash register says I'm not the only one. (it didn't really make me feel better)

*I'm gathering up the courage to ask Jesse to clip my toenails. I've been thinking about springing for a pedicure, but I really think the massage will be too much. It was borderline last time and I was only 18 weeks. And the massage is the best part! So no one look at my toes.

*I've learned that if I do have to get on the ground, I have to stay on my hands and knees, if I don't, I get stuck. Just ask Jesse. I once waited for him for 20 minutes to come back inside to help me up.

*Yes my belly has knocked my children over....on the ground.... more than once....

*Andrew doesn't hug me anymore, he hugs my belly.

*The thought that I am already measuring the size of a full term single baby freaks me out. HOW am I going to get bigger? Where is everything supposed to go? I still have at least 2 months!

* By the way, if anyone sees my lungs, tell them I miss them and want them to come back.

* For the first time in my life, I snore. It wakes me up, and Jesse.

*Back rubs are the best!

* When I need to put shoes away (anyone's shoes, not just mine) I just slip off my own shoes, slip the others on my feet and walk them to where they need to go. Yes, even the kiddos. I'm very talented.

*I literally turn to the side to lean in and turn on the water at the kitchen sink. If I try to do it head on or "belly on", I can't reach.

*I won't get into how I shower. But yes Dad, my feet do get wet...............eventually.

*My dr warned me about letting my feet and ankles swell too often because it can cause blood clots, which can kill you. Now I'm freaked out of my mind. My feet swell ALL THE TIME, it happens when I sit or stand. So pretty much all the time. Church is the worse, too much sitting. And grocery shopping. And cooking.. ok pretty much anything but laying down.

* I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color we painted the babies room.

* I was up at 4 in the morning the other night pacing the floor trying to "rock the babies back to sleep" I thought I was only going to have to do that once they were born? This is becoming a common occurrence. Well, at least I can carry them both at the same time still.

* I have CRAVED sushi this entire pregnancy. Jesse won't even let me eat the fully cooked rolls. So that is one of the first things I am doing when I can!!!!!

Ok that's probably enough for now. Whew, I'm tired now.

You are SO stinkin cute! I just LOVE you and the way you describe your life! So, I can relate to many of the things you are saying... All shoes must be slip ons, hairy legs are unavoidable (can't bend over), sliding piles of stuff with your foot instead of picking them up...oh the joys! But I have only experienced that with one baby, and you're doing it with two! Can't say I've been there, but anytime you need me to come over and help you up off the floor, I'm SO THERE for you! I love you!

Love it!! You are so funny! I had to do the crawling thing too! It was so much work bending over for things - so I would just crawl on the floor, put everything in a basket, eventually pull myself up and then put the stuff away. So much work!! I also had to turn to the side to turn on the kitchen sink. Oh sweet girl - I will continue praying for you and your little angels. Two months isn't really that long, right? :)

It was so good to see you! Sorry you are pregnant with twins when it is so hot outside! I think you should be able to lay in an air conditioned room and read novels all day long.

Lisa -- that was one of the most informative blog entries I've ever read. I think I'm in sensory overload right now.

I saw a commercial a few years back about a lady who fell and couldn't get up. There was some kind of magic bracelet you could buy that would warn others that you're on the floor... :) Or, just buy a Lassie.

I know...I'm a guy and will never understand...

The other day we were discussing what you do if, while preg, you're showering and you drop the bar of soap.
I think the best answer we came up with was to kick it out of the shower and then go get it.
I guess that's not even an option for you, huh? :)
I feel for you, I really, really do.

Hilarious. For sure go get a pedicure. Who cares if you can't lean over to shave your legs. Could your belly be considered a weapon? I guess it depends on how hurt the munchkins get when they get knocked over. Just keep thinking of the beautiful central air that you have for the summer.

Hey it's norma I am at my Dad's in ID and was adding ward members to my blog so I had to keep going to your blog. Just wanted to warn you so you didn't think I was stalking you. Thanks for sharing your story on your pregnancy. Let me know if you ever need anything.

You're hilarious. And if I make it to Utah, I'm going to sneak you some delicious (non raw) sushi. How dare Jesse.

I think you should invest in one of those old people grabber things so you don't have to bend over. My in-laws love there's- who knew there was a market for preggo ladies! Thank you so much for your birthday party box offer- can I take you up on it? I don't know how to get a hold of you though! Email me at scrach55 at gmail dot com and we can get in touch. Good luck- a lady in our ward just had triplets!!!

I only have one in there, but it's the biggest I've gotten with any of my pregnancies. My favorite part? When my 18-month-old hugs me around the legs and I CAN'T SEE HER because of my belly. And I've almost caught my belly on fire because I didn't realize how far out it extends. The joys...

I'm glad you're finally emotionally unattached from your carpet....

Hi Lisa!
Robin just showed me that you have a blog, so I've spent the last few minutes reading all of your blogs back to when you first found you were pregnant. Really, we haven't disappeared from the face of the earth. I couldn't find your address at Christmastime. Guess I posted your darling family photo and threw the envelope away, I wrote you a card and then couldn't mail it. Would I ever think of trying a computer? No, never. I don't touch these things, and it's rare that a message actually gets to anyone after I write it because I'm so challenged. So, feel lucky I'm writing you. You have such beautiful little children. You might as well get a bunch of them. When you get three children, all of your time is gone anyway. That's probably why we went for six. we miss seeing you, so this was a treat. Now that I've found you, I'll try to check on you more often. And, it's true, your blog was greatly funny. I always knew you're a wondrous writer. Remember your Treading Water paper? I still get it out once in a while a reread it, when I can stand the pain again. Next year we want to have a Remember Dave day. Maybe you and friends would like to come? Love ya. We'll pray that all will go well for your next two months...and then after!

Please tell me you have a shower head that detachesso you can hose down all of your 2000 parts (thank you Lever Soap). If not I'm getting you one!! It's one of the greatest inventions ever!! Also, I've heard the 1-piece garmies are helpful & don't have an elastic, but I don't know that for sure. I'm not a fan of the flap... EEK! Good luck!!
